Getting to know Despegar cancellation policies
For a good cancellation policy setup for your Stays listings connected to Despegar, check the table below that shows what each Despegar policy means:
Despegar policy | What does it mean? |
Non refundable | The cancellation by the guest is not allowed without the payment of a fine. If there is a cancellation, no show or early checkout, the penalty is 100% of the total amount of the stay. |
Refundable for 24 hours | The cancellation by the guest is allowed between 0 and 24 hours before the check-in and after this time the fine is the amount of 1 daily rate. If the guest does not show or leaves early, the fine is also 1 the amount of daily rate. |
Refundable for 48 hours | The cancellation by the guest is allowed between 0 and 48 hours before the check-in and after this time the fine is the amount of 1 daily rate. If the guest does not show or leaves early the fine is also 1 daily rate. |
Fully refundable | The guests will be able to cancel without a fine. If there is a cancellation, no show or early checkout, there will be also no penalty. |
Linking Stays policies to Despegar policies
To link your cancellation policies registered on Stays.net to Despegar models, just access [Channel Managers Dashboard > Despegar] menu, accces the Settings tab and choose the Cancellation policies option, like in the image below:
Remember that to have Stays policies option, you need to register your models on [Catalog > Auxiliaries > Cancellation policies] and then set the models per listing, if you want. Learn more.
